How to do it
Order or make a round pizza. While it's still whole, ask: 'If we cut it in half, how big is each piece?' Cut it. 'And if we cut each half in half?' Cut. 'What do we call this fraction?' Write 1/4 on the box lid. Cut quarters into eighths. Then: tell them they get 3/8. Have them give themselves the right slices. Now you ask for 1/2 — they reach for slices. They give you 4/8 — same as 1/2 — moment of realization. Eat the math. Repeat with the next pizza, asking for thirds, sixths, fifths. They'll fight over the unfair cuts. That's the lesson.
