Photograph one new bird every week for 8 weeks
Slow eyes. Quiet feet. By week 8 they know more birds than most adults.
60 min ages 7–14· Outdoor
How to do it
Download Merlin Bird ID (free, from Cornell). Each Saturday, walk a different route — your neighborhood, a park, near water. Quiet, slow. When you spot a new bird, take a photo. Use Merlin to ID it. Print it (or save to a phone album). 8 weeks = 8 new birds = a kid who notices the world.
