Open a savings account, save toward something specific

How to do it
Decide together what they're saving toward. Calculate how much it costs. Open a custodial savings account at your bank (you can do this in 30 minutes at a branch). Every two weeks, walk in together and make a deposit. Print and tape a goal thermometer to their wall. Color it in each week.
