How to do it
Find a local food bank online (Feeding America's site has a zip-code lookup). Sign up together — many take kids 8+ with a parent. Show up on time. Whatever they ask you to do — sort cans, pack boxes, sweep — do it well and without complaining. Talk on the drive home.
