Cloud-watch and name the shapes
Lay on the grass. Call shapes. No phones.
30 min ages 4–10· Outdoor· Screen-free
How to do it
Pick a day with cumulus clouds (the fluffy ones — if it's overcast, save this one). Lay on a blanket in the yard or a park. First one to spot a 'dragon eating a hot dog' wins. Switch to teaching the cloud names: cumulus, cirrus, stratus. Bonus: ask which one means rain is coming.
